M2 money supply is a measure of the total amount of currency and near money in a country’s economy. It includes cash, checking deposits, savings deposits, money market accounts, retail mutual funds, and time deposits of less than $100,000.
The year-on-year change in Bitcoin (BTC) price can be compared over time with the year-on-year change in M2 money supply to track changes in liquidity alongside changes in Bitcoin's price. Increases in money supply liquidity are considered bullish for hard assets such as Bitcoin.
